There’s something so romantic about Autumn. The oranges, reds and plums enrich the natural landscape, and everything seems warmer and more inviting. For all of our beautiful brides who will be married in Autumn, we at WEOA want to share our favourite things about Autumn weddings with you.
Here are the things we love best about Autumn weddings.
Go outside for your special day, and enjoy the rich technicolour landscape of Autumn. Autumn is the perfect time of year for rustic weddings. Quaint farm locations will be brimming with colour and romance, and farm to table catering will satiate your guests. There’s nothing dreamier than being in the countryside during harvest, fresh produce and idyllic farmland side by side.
For a more unique twist on the rustic wedding, have your wedding surrounded by harvest for a true rustic farm experience. Think quaint ceremonies in apple, pomegranate or pear orchards for a memorable way to celebrate your love.
If you’re lucky enough to be having your wedding in the countryside, make sure your produce is harvested from the land around you. Nothing make a wedding more special than the details, and drinking wine made from the vineyards around your wedding makes for a truly remarkable experience. If you’re wedding is in the city, make sure your produce is seasonal and colourful. Nothing will tie the day together than bright orange pumpkins, fresh rosy raspberries and soft pink figs.
One hot trend is having a smaller wedding cake and providing a variety of alternatives for your guests. One way to incorporate this into your fall wedding is by serving traditional autumnal desserts like spicy and sweet pumpkin pie, tangy mulberry and orange crumble and aromatic stewed apples. For beverages, serve warm spiced mulled wine to add warmth to your event.
The colours of Autumn are warm and inviting, just like your new marriage. Orange, burgundy and purple make a beautiful contrast with traditional whites and pale hues, adding a special seasonal touch to your wedding’s palette.
A big trend this autumn will accenting with metallic, adding a multidimensional depth to your colour theme. Think purple with brass, gold with deep orange and pink gold with red. You should wear gold, you’re a queen!
Nothing is more magical than fresh flowers on your wedding day. Think about flower girls holding gorgeous pink camellias, bridesmaids carrying purple dahlias and venues strewn with deep crimson calla lilies and quintessential roses in red and pinks.
Adding autumn flowers in your bouquet is proving to be a big trend this fall and in particular burgundy dahlias are making a stylish appearance in bouquets this season. Another trend is replacing flowers on tabletops with autumn berries, like mulberries. This gives a special seasonal touch that your guests will always remember.
